"It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle."

~ Ernest Hemingway

want a little something else?

Many of our tours have off-shoots and variations if you seek something a little different than what's listed.  Just ask us!

We also offer single track downhill rides and (even more) XTREME endurance road rides upon request.

what am I?

I ask myself this question every day.

BEGINNER
You know how to ride one, but perhaps you haven’t been on a bike in a while.  You’re looking for a leisurely ride that’s less of a challenge, and more of a means to have fun and enjoy the scenery.

INTERMEDIATE
You have some experience mountain biking, and feel confident in your skills as a rider.  You’re up for a wee bit of a challenge, but don’t want to push yourself to the max.

ADVANCED
You are an experienced rider technically, and are in good physical shape.  You aren’t afraid of rocky tracks or steep grades, and you enjoy a good dose of physical activity.

XTREME!
You’ve been doing this for years and will make all of us eat your dust.  You came to AXS for a challenge and we are glad to deliver.

MAGICAL MARRAKECH

Level: Beginner

Bike: Giant Cypress

Magical Marrakech is an hour and a half long discovery tour of mystical and magical city of Marrakech. We'll start this laid back tour at the AXS headquarters and travel through the King's palace, the Medina, and the Djeema-El-Fna, where we will stop to drink some of the best fresh squeezed orange juice in the world. The Magical Marrakech tour is a great opportunity to see the Koutubia and many other historical landmarks that the city has to offer.

THE PALMERY

Level: Beginner

Bike: Giant Talon 29er

The Palmery tour is an hour long off road adventure into the palm forest that lies the outskirts of Marrakech, known as "The Palmery."  Riders will travel through the contours of this mega-oasis, its tiny "off the map" villages, and stunning ruins of civilizations past.  This tour is also recommended for animal lovers, as it is likely you will see camels, sheep, goats, cats, dogs, and donkeys all in one ride.  The Palmery tour is the most difficult of our beginner tours, but is certainly not to be feared.  This is a great option for more advanced riders as well; the palmery is a mountain biking playground if you veer slightly off the beaten path.

EASING DOWN THE ATLAS

Level: Beginner

Bike: Giant Cypress

This tour is a half day trip to the stunning Atlas Mountains with an on-road ride. Riders can expect to have a couple gentle climbs but the tour is mainly all downhill.  The route runs alongside the Ourika river, through several Berber villages with incredible vistas of the mountains and the valley below.  Once completed we will rest and eat some savory tajine while enjoying a breathtaking view of the Atlas.

ENTER THE ATLAS ON ROAD

Level: Intermediate

Bike: Giant Cypress

Enter the Atlas On Road is a great option for riders looking for a slightly more difficult road ride that doesn't push the limits.  The tour is mostly downhill (be prepared to hit the brakes) but there is a gentle climb as well.  Enter the Atlas On Road is a higher altitude route that runs deeper into the Atlas in a more sparsely populated area.  Enter the Atlas On Road serves as a more quiet alternative to Easing Down the Atlas, and is also a good option for more confident beginners.

ENTER THE ATLAS OFF ROAD

Level: Intermediate & Advanced

Bike: Giant Trance X4

Enter the Atlas Off Road is a downhill mountain ride that begins in the mountains and ends in the valley at the beautiful Lake Takerkoust.  This is the perfect ride for groups of varying skill levels, as there are two separate trails, one easier route for intermediate riders and one challenging technical route for advanced riders.  The trails reunite at Lake Takerkoust, where you can sit back and enjoy some waterfront dining.

CŒUR DE L'ATLAS

Level: Intermediate

Bike: Giant Trance X4

The Cœur de l'Atlas (in English, Heart of the Atlas) tour is a primarily downhill mountain ride with some technical elements.  Cœur de l'Atlas is a great opportunity to escape civilization and be one with the landscape and your bike.  Epic views are abundant on this ride, and a yummy Moroccan tajine will be waiting for you at the bottom of the trail.  This is a great tour for a more experienced mountain rider who isn't afraid of heights and doesn't want to strain themselves with arduous uphills.

AMLOGI TOUR

Level: Intermediate

Bike: Giant Trance X4

Amlogi is a gorgeous uphill and downhill mountain ride, perfect for an intermediate rider craving to improve his or her skills.  This tour will bring you to the heart of authentic Berber mountain life, providing bikers with a rich cultural experience as well as a scenic.  This is not an overly technical ride, but it is recommended that riders be in decent physical shape to complete the uphills.

THE HISHAM TOUR

Level: Advanced

Bike: Giant Trance X4

Named for our its creator and our very own lead mechanic, the Hisham Tour is an off-road journey deep into the Atlas Mountains.  Athletically, this is one of our more difficult tours, but intermediate mountain riders who are in good shape would be equipped to handle the tour if they are up for a bit of a challenge.  Riders will travel through quaint stone villages, beautiful orchards, and winding mountain paths with incredible vistas in every direction.  If you are seeking an adventure down the road less traveled (or the road less tourist-ed), this is the option for you.

THE TIZI TOUR

Level: Advanced

Bike: Giant Trance X4

Tizi is for a biker craving adventure.  The tour begins with a hike up to the trailhead.  Bikes can either be walked or transported via donkey for an extra 200 MAD.  Next comes a downhill challenge, ripe with some of the most beautiful scenery in the Atlas.  Tizi offers a good mix for those who desire to see the quaint villages of the mountains, but also want to spend some quality time with nature.  This downhill ride is our most technical, so it is important that you are an experienced mountain rider.

ZOK TOUR

Level: XTREME!

Bike: Giany Defy Advanced

If you would like to test your athletic skills, this is the tour for you. The Zok tour is an on-road uphill battle against the Atlas Mountains to the Oukaimden ski resort. Riders will ascend a total of 1837 meters and descend 811 meters over the course of a 30 kilometer ride.  A savory Moroccan meal will be waiting for you at the top of the mountain, where you can sit back and enjoy the breathtaking vistas before you.
